As a thirty-year resident of Northeast Georgia, with family roots of many previous generations before me, I stand firm in my commitment to the people of this area and to their diverse legal needs as they arise. Practicing in Estate, Criminal, and Domestic law.
My family roots go back to the 1700s in Carnesville, Bowersville, and Bowman as settlers. I could live anywhere, but I choose to live and raise my family here. I served as Royston's Mayor for 12 years, following a 9-year tenure on the city council. During that time, I built intergovernmental relationships with various cities and counties and was trusted with over $80 Million in tax dollars over 12 years. I also negotiated intergovernmental agreements to maximize funding, and secured several million dollars in state and federal funding grants. I am also a professor at Emmanuel University for almost 28 years.
I hold both bachelor's and master's degrees in Business Administration from The Citadel and received my Juris Doctorate from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. I practice criminal and civil litigation law. I also have experience in audit and forensic accounting, civil cases involving fraud, as well as electronic disovery and information systems. I am admitted to the State Court of Appeals and The Georgia Supreme Court and I am a practicing litigation attorney in the courtroom.
